What is a Master by Research via distance Learning?
The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a post-graduate Master by Research. It consists of an academic research a student has to manage independently and culminating in a minimum 90 pages Final Dissertation.
Admission requirements vary for each university, according to the country's framework. Each one has a different system. Selinus requires 40 credits in order to obtain an MPhil Degree by Research via Distance Learning; those 40 Uniselinus Credits are considered in addition to a Bachelor's or other Master's degree. We welcome applications from students who do not meet traditional requirements but who have relevant experience and ability to follow the course successfully. For this reason, it is possible to be admitted by APEL (Accreditation Prior Experiential Learning), provided that the validated credits are consistent with the chosen discipline.
The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) represents a high level academic degree and it gives access to the PhD. Candidates need to have grown a specific knowledge as well as educational and professional experience, elements that emerge in the final thesis of the Master.
The Selinus MPhil achievement depends on the thesis evaluation: the content, the topic originality and the text structure. The candidate’s skills and autonomy will also be evaluated. A minimum age of 25 is needed in order to be admitted to a MPhil program.
