Sheikh Gafar Adenekan received his PhD in International Relations from the Selinus University, London in 2021. He earned his MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, London, after he had obtained the first MA in Public and International Affairs from the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria in 2008. He also has a certification in Project Management from Knowledge Train, London, in 2012. He had his Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria in 2004.
Sheikh Gafar Adenekan is a London trained mediator and conflict resolution expert with good expertise knowledge in multilateral negotiation. He is a bi-linguist, astute translator, prolific writer, and a seasoned administrator. He is an alumnus of the prestigious School of Oriental and African Studies, SOAS, London, and of the famous University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria. He was a researcher in small arms, disarmament, and non-proliferations at SCRAP, University of London, and he chairs the Grand Caliph Centre for Humanity; an NGO undertaking independent research on conflict resolution and facilitation, small and light arms and security related issues. He has authored and co-authored several scholarly articles on security, counter/insurgency, foreign policy, public policy, international relations, conflicts and conflict resolution, Islam, peace and security. He lives in Lagos.
